A delayed response

I do seem to spend a lot of time apologising for the lack of updates. Given that I’m likely the only person to ever read this, it’s probably self-actualisation. Which may or may not be a word or if it is, this may not be what it means.

Nevertheless, big news. I probably have cancer. Not the sudden three-weeks to live type, but a slghtly annoying skin cancer. A squamous cell carcinoma going by the pictures. A diagnosis awaits and the worst I can say is that it is annoying and a bit ugly. Also, it oozes. Sozz.

What is even more annoying is an intermittent ping’ on the macbook that I simply cannot track down. I’m positive that it’s related to Orion and this is certainly on the same level of annoyance as an oozing facial lump.

In more positive news, blot.im who host this blog have recently (where recently’ could be any time in the last six months) enabled iCloud syncing which is exceptionally handy. I’ve never liked the Dropbox implementation on the mac and this is the only reason I had it installed. Top tip, because the local iCloud directory is buried in a barely decipherable com.* folder, ln -s ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/blog-folder easy-name gets you an easily accessible folder if for some reason you’re daft enough to be using something like Vim/NeoVim or Emacs. Speaking of the latter, I have only recently discovered (as in the last 20 minutes) that the markdown mode is what I could reasonably describe as epic.
